Edenderry and Raheen were crowned football league Division 1 and 2 champions respectively last weekend.

In Geashill on Saturday, Edenderry recorded an emphatic 2-17 to 2-5 victory over county champions Tullamore. The Reds signalled their intent by racing into a 0-5 to 0-1 lead by the end of the opening quarter. With Sean Pender, Stuart Cullen, Richie Dalton and Aaron McDonnell to the fore, they had extended their lead to 10 points, 0-13 to 0-3, by the interval.

Goals from Shane Kelly and Nigel Bracken brought Tullamore back into it early in the second half, but they couldn't get any closer than five points as Edenderry closed out the win with majors from McDonnell and Derek Kelly. Tweet
