Offaly minor football manager Padraig Farrell
Offaly minor football boss Padraig Farrell is hoping supporters won't expect too much from his team against Kildare after their extraordinary comeback victory over Meath.
Trailing by nine points at one stage in the first half, the Faithful blitzed Meath after the break to register an emphatic 6-10 to 3-8 victory - a result which has sent expectations soaring ahead of Saturday's Leinster quarter-final in Newbridge.
"With minors, you never know what will happen from day to day," the Tubber man pointed out in the Tullamore Tribune.
"We have no backdoor now. Lose and we are out. The lads have worked very hard and are very committed. Playing in Newbridge doesn't bother us; we won in Navan in the last game."
Reflecting on that dramatic first round tie against the Royals, Farrell said: "You couldn't take your eye off it for a second.
"It was up and down the field the whole game. Even when we were nine points down, I didn't think we were playing that badly. Our goalkeeper made a crucial save before half-time. If we had gone 12 points down, I don't think we would have come back. As it was, we went down the field, got a goal and were only six points down at half time."
