Red Or Black Game Show
Red or Black is a game show as seen on tv is being organised and run by Offaly GAA and will take place on Friday 26th October 2012.
You choose Red or Black and there is 50/50 chance you will win. If you win the round and play on you could win a substantial cash prize just by picking Red or Black.
This is the first time this type of show has been staged in Tullamore and is a fun filled evening of entertainment, craic and capers for the audience to both enjoy and participate in from the comfort of their seats.
To participate all you have to do is purchase an admission ticket in advance which includes you in the game show and the raffle. On the night there will be a number of tasks to be completed by the teams of volunteers. The tasks will be competitive and the 2 teams in each task will represent Red or Black. The audience will be divided into supporting the Red or Black teams. After each task the winning colour ticket holders will progress into the next round of tasks.
The teams will be selected from all areas of the county and will represent all walks of life, clubs, groups and organisations. Part of the intrigue at this point is that none of the team leaders know they are going to be participating. The master list is being kept a closely guarded secret for the moment. So beware, we could be knocking on your door soon.
All the team leaders will be brought together in the near future for pairing off against each other and as they say opposites attract, or old rivalries may be revisited, or old scores settled!.
The actual tasks will vary and may include items such as good old fashioned Pitch & Toss, target shooting, stacking turf, carrying water balloons and not to mention 'doing the ironing'. There will be something for everyone to enjoy.
As the rounds progress, there will be only 2 members of the audience left to play the last task for Red or Black and the winner will progress to play the roulette wheel for the substantial cash prize.
This is sure to be one of the best nights of entertainment in Tullamore for some time and will be different than anything done in the past. Everyone is invited to be part of it to mix and mingle for a great night out with a difference and which will also financially benefit a local charity.

Electric Ireland Leinster Minor Football Championship Quarter Final
Hard luck to our minor footballers and Management team who lost to Meath at O'Connor Par last Saturday afternoon on a scoreline of 3-10 to 1-8.
Sincere sympathies to Ciaran McEvoy's family Gracefield
There was shock and sadness around the Gracefield / Portarlington area last Saturday when the news broke of Ciarran McEvoy's sudden passing. Ciaran was an outstanding gael and a member of the Gracefield Senior Football Panel up to last year. He came on in last year's semi final defeat to Edenderry. Ciaran was still enjoying playing hurling in 2012 and he also wore the faithful county jersey as well at Minor, Under 21 and at the young age of 19 made his debut at Senior level. Gracefield and Offaly GAA have lost a true great. Ard dheis de go raibh ainm dilis.
