DIVISION 4 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Raheen Junior Footballers got back to winning ways as they easily saw off the challenge of a very weakened Durrow side, who were forced to play the first half with just 13 players, on a scoreline of 3-12 to 1-04 in their Div 4 League encounter in Geashill last Tuesday week. Raheen opened the scoring with the first point inside the first minute and Durrow equalised with a free moments later but that would prove to be their only score of the first half. Raheen then sent over 5 points in a row before getting through to score 2 goals from Jack Keogh and Jimmy Coughlan within a minute 10 mins from the end of the half. Raheen added another 4 points before the break and so at half time Raheen had the game wrapped up as they held a commanding lead of 2-10 to 0-01. In the second half with the game over as a contest Raheen rung the changes and Durrow got up to their full compliment of 15 players and so Raheen added just another 1-02 to their tally all scored by Jack Keogh with Durrow scoring 1-03 to marginally reduce their deficit at the end.

U14 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Na Fianna U14 Footballers were beaten by Ballinamere / Durrow in Round 2 of the Championship last Friday evening in Durrow on a scoreline of 2-12 to 2-06. B/D made the better start to the game scoring the first 4 points before Na Fianna got off the mark with their opening point mid way through the half but B/D went straight down the field to score their opening goal. The sides then added a point apiece before B/D got in to score their second goal and just on the stoke of half time Na Fianna added another point. This left B/D leading well at the break 2-05 to 0-03. Na Fianna's hopes of making a comeback were dashed as B/D extended their lead with the first 3 points of the second half inside the first minute followed shortly afterwards by 2 more points. Na Fianna's opening score of the second half came courtesey of David Buckley's goal just after the mid point of the half when he grabbed a high ball, turned and shot it to the net. The sides added 2 more points apiece and in the last minute Na Fianna sent over a free for their final point. Then in stoppage time Na Fianna finished the game in style by scoring their second goal when Stephen Pierce won the ball around 30m out and ran through to the square before laying it off to Ian Buckley who fired the ball to the roof of the net.
