Offaly defer decision on team managements
July 28, 2010
No decisions were made on the make-up of Offaly's hurling and football managements for next year at last night's county board meeting in Tullamore.
County board chairman Pat Teehan told delegates that Joe Dooley had requested more time to consider his position as senior hurling manager, while Tom Cribbin had expressed a desire to continue as senior football manager, but not as under 21 manager,
Teehan also said that former All-Ireland winning goalkeeper Stephen Byrne isn't interested in continuing as under 21 hurling boss in the wake of this year's 29-point Leinster championship mauling by Kilkenny.
Following a 25-minute debate which touched on every aspect of this year's inter-county activity, it was decided that separate seven-man committees (one hurling and one football) should be established to look at the appointment of managers for 2011.
