Drumcullen started very well in this game and deservedly lead by five points at half time. Birr had the wind in the second half and started to cut into Drumcullens lead. Birr seemed to be getting on top and levelled the game after scoring a goal midway through the second half to level the match. But Drumcullen responded and scored three unanswered points to secure victory.

Intermediate Hurling Championship:
Drumcullen 1-18 V Coolderry 2-12
A Superb fight back saw Drumcullen beat Coolderry in Carrig last Friday to remain unbeaten in this year's championship. But it was Coolderry who started the better. Two quick first half goals and poor shooting from Drumcullen the other end saw Coolderry lead by nine points in the second half 2-09 to 0-06. The start of the second half saw Drumcullen scoring some fine points to narrow the lead. But a victory still looked unlikely until Connor Gaths goal put just one point between the teams. Drumcullen then pushed on to get crucial scores and to win the match by three points. Team: A Mannion, J Brophy, W Spain, S Ryan, N O Leary(0-01), H Ryan(0-02), D Teehan, D Gath, David Spain, A Maher, C Gath(1-11), D Maher, R Gath(0-02), P Gath, J Troy(0-01). Subs: D Spain(0-01) for David Spain, N Lawlor for D Gath, S Guinan for A Maher and J Cashin for D Teehan .
