Shamrocks Notes
June 23, 2009
Lotto:
The numbers drawn in this week's draw were 19, 22, 24 and 26. There were 2 match 3 winners who each receive 100. The winners were: Margaret Kenny (Flynn's Fingerboard) and Marie Keyes (Ger Keyes). Next weeks draw will take place in The Thatch with a jackpot of 8 000
Best of Luck:
Good wishes to Paddy Kelly, his team mates and the minor management as they take on Dublin on Saturday in the minor semi final.
Feile:
Sincere thanks are extended to all who made the Feile such a memorable occasion last weekend.
Shamrocks beat Four Roads Roscommon, drew with Lixnaw (Kerry) and lost out to the eventual division 3 champions Tinnahinch (Laois) in the last group game where victory would have sent Shamrocks through to the semi final. The players gave it everything and with a little bit of luck they would have been in the running for winning out the division 3 title.
After the games on Saturday both Shamrocks and Four Roads panels went bowling and followed that up with a trip to O Connor Park to see Kilkenny defeat Galway in a thrilling game.
Well done to everyone concerned including Team Management, the grounds people, everyone who helped out with signs, banners, BBQ, shop, teas, sandwiches, umpires, linesmen, Hosts, parents, and players from both senior and minor levels and anyone else who helped out in whatever way they could. Without everyone's help the weekend would not have been the huge success which it ultimately proved to be.

U-10 Skills Competition: Leader board
Shane Kearney leads Conor Buckley by a single point after three evenings of the under 10 hurling skills 2009. Also Gareth Healy has overtaken Derek Mooney to move into 3rd place. Michael Hickey and Robert Cantwell have made good strides to move into the top six as did Tony Hennessey who is up to 7th place. The weekly prize for the most improved player went to Michael O Brien, Goldsmiths Lot. Well done Michael.
Elsewhere it was nice to see Michael Feeley make a comeback and after two good evenings work, is now up on 41 points. Jamie Doolan and Brian Carroll have also impressed after a couple of outings.
Martin Looby scored a handsome 24 points at his first attempt and will make rapid progress if this form continues.

Shamrocks Ladies News:
Rhode proved to be the strongest team when they played Shamrocks ladies in the semi-final of the league in Durrow last week. In the first half Shamrocks looked the stronger side with a great goal coming from the boot of Bernie Walsh, but they were unable to keep up with the bigger Rhode team in the second half. Hard luck to the girls and best of luck for later games.
Under 14/16 Note:
U14 and U16 training will take place on Wednesday evenings from 5.00 to 6.00 in Mucklagh G.A.A field.
