Feile opens on Friday

Birr will be brought to a standstill on Friday evening June 19 for the grand opening of the 2009 Feile na nGael Festival.
The national U14 hurling, camogie and handball festival is being jointly hosted by Offaly and Laois this weekend.
Over 200 teams are taking part and these will be joined for the opening ceremony by up to 20 bands.
The parade is due to leave St Brendan's Park at 7.30 and will move along Wilmer Road, Emmet Square, Main Street, Castle Street and Rosse Row before concluding along Birr Castle wall.
