Rhode are Club of the Year
December 12, 2008
To no real surprise, Rhode were named as Offaly's Club of the Year for 2008 at last week's county GAA Convention.
The club were a cut above the rest this past season, claiming the Senior and Junior Football Championship titles, as well as the Division One and Four league crowns. They also made a gallant charge towards the Leinster club SFC, where they were beaten by Kilmacud Crokes last weekend.
At the convention, the Fr McWey Cup was presented to gracious Rhode delegates John Glennon and Ger Noonan by County Board chairman Pat Teehan.
