K Buggy Coaches Division 2 Football League.

Ballycumber 1-15  Shamrocks 2-12.

Ballycumber got off to a very good start in this game with points from Adrian Kelly and Conrad Casey. Sean Hackett added a well taken goal and Cormac Quinn pointed a 45 before Shamrocks scored a goal and two points. Nigel Grennan, Fergal Daly and Sean and Cormac added points to leave the half time score at 1-8 to 1-5.

Gary Larkin got the first point of the second half, but Shamrocks quickly drew level with a point and a goal. Nigel Grennan kicked two points to which Shamrocks replied with one. Adrian Kelly scored two points and Shamrocks got one back. Nigel scored another point with his reliable left foot. The visitors then hit four points in a row to take the lead with time almost up. Nigel completed the scoring with a point to draw the sides level.

The teams will meet again in the Division 2 Football League Final.

K Buggy Coaches Division 5 Football League.

Ballycumber 5-14 Bracknagh 0-5.

Ballycumber travelled to Bracknagh on Friday evening through rain, thunder and lightning. Luckily the worst of the weather passed by the venue and the game was played without interruption. Conor Connelly scored three points and Andrew Grennan got one early in the game. John Corcoran was in control at midfield and after a great run through the heart of the defence his shot was saved but Paul Kelly was on hand to score a goal. Paul repeated the act a few minutes later with his second goal. Conor Connelly scored the third goal with a spectacular leap to deflect the ball past the goalkeeper. Team selector Declan Daly playing in the unusual position of corner forward added a goal and a point before half time.

The scoring in the second half slowed down with the visitors adding points from Colin Daly, David Ayres [2] and Kevin Kelly with a goal and three points.

Feile Hurling.

Congratulations to Dylan Daly and Oisin Carroll who were members of Clara/Brosna Gaels under 14 hurlers who won the Division7 Feile Hurling Final with a 2-3 to 1-5 win over Roscommon Gaels in Duggan Park, Ballinasloe on Sunday. In the quarter final they defeated Athleague Treemane, Roscommon and in the semi final they were victorious over Na Fianna from Laois.

Feile Peile na nOg,

A Table quiz and Bar B Q will be held in Ballycumber Community Centre on Saturday next 16th June at 6pm. Teams of four with two under 14 members and the questions will be age appropriate. The purpose of the quiz is to raise funds to help with the costs involved in St Manchan Gaels under 14 footballers trip to Slane to participate in Feile Peile na nOg which is being held in Counties Meath, Louth and Down at the end of June. All support is much appreciated.

Offaly Football.

Congratulations to everyone involved with the Offaly victory over Antrim in O'Connor Park on Saturday. In the next round they will face Clare in BNM O'Connor Park on Sunday 24thJune at 1.30pm.

Deepest sympathy to the family of the late Andy Hackett, Grogan who passed away last week.
