Tullamore GAA club notes

April 03, 2018

U17 hurling League
Shinrone 3-13 Tullamore 0-8.:
Short a number of regulars, Tullamore put in a very lethargic performance against Shinrone on Sunday morning. Granted, the team has only 3 nights Training done but more was expected from them in this fixture. On the plus side, the Fox twins, Eoin O'Connor and Kalvin Fenlon did most to stem the tide. Championships are not won on April 1st and Tullamore will improve as the months go by.

U13 Leinster Football League
Tullamore 5-10   St.Vincents  4-7
Tullamore U.13 Footballers had a hard earned victory over St. Vincents in the semi-final of the Leinster league last Wednesday evening.
In a game that could have gone either way Tullamore claimed victory by 6 points, having trailed by 2 points in the closing stages.
Missed chances early on could have proved costly for the Tullamore side as St. Vincents jumped into an early lead 1-2 to no score. However Tullamore gradually worked their way into the game with scores from Luke Duffy and Killian Burke and at half time they only trailed by 2points.
In a thrilling second half St. Vincents increased their advantage but Tullamore came back again to lead with goals by Niall Furlong and Jack Daly. It was anybodys game at this point and Vincents responded with a goal to lead by 2 points entering the closing stages. But Tullamore were not to be denied. Points from Sean Kavanagh, Luke Duffy and a goal from Jack Donegan sealed their win.
This was a terrific game of attacking football from both sets of players and it was hard luck on St. Vincents to lose out in the end.
Tullamore now go forward to a Leinster final but their opponents are not known yet. In the meantime their next outing is a league game away to Gracefield on Fri.Apl.6th. and all players are expected to travel.
