Reunion of 1987 teams

Maunsells was the venue last Saturday night for the reunion of the 1987 Senior b and Junior b championship winning teams. This team were the first to win the Senior b championship beating St Johns in the final. Chairman Paul Keating introduced both teams and Secretary Vickie Keating was on hand to present the teams with a small token of appreciation. Malachy Mangan spoke about the Junior b team while Sean McEvoy recounted the story of the Senior b team. It was a great night of craic, reminiscing and chat with great stories and tales told. Sean T Farrell delighted the crowd with a rendition of the Auld Triangle. Unfortunately three key figures from that period have passed onto their eternal reward. Mick Reilly, Mick Keating and Andy McCormack were all fondly remembered on the night. Let's hope it's not too long until we see a senior title back in the town soon
