Marron: a draw would have been a fair result

October 17, 2014

A disappointed Donaghmoyne manager Noel Marron feels that a draw would have been a fair outcome in last Sunday's IFC final.

Instead, Inniskeen came out on top by the narrowest of margins in an enthralling encounter that could have went either way right down to the final whistle.

Marron admitted to the Northern Standard that both teams had missed chances to close out the game.

"We had a couple of chances to go two or three points up and we didn't take them," said Marron. "I have to say Inniskeen missed chances as well but probably a draw would have been a fair enough result.

"We started well and the goal that put us 1-03 to 0-01 up, but we didn't score again then for nearly 15 minutes."
