Castleblayney Faughs' new 2,000-seater stand.
Monaghan club Castleblayney Faughs' new 2,000-seater stand will be used for the first time when county champions Scotstown are the visitors tomorrow evening for the opening league game of the season.

As well as providing covered accommodation for over 2,000 spectators, the stand at the redeveloped St. Mary's Park comprises a media room, event control room, toilets and store rooms.

"We are absolutely delighted with our progress on the field development, the new pitch has turned out brilliantly, but the stand is something else," Faughs chairman Stephen Dignam told the Northern Standard.

"There have been many long days in getting us to this point, but when the public sit in the new stand to watch our games, they will be very impressed with both the stand itself and the views from the seats in the stand.

"We intend to continue our development of St. Mary's Park, with new playing pitches to facilitate the large number of juveniles we have within the club, while we also intend to replace the floodlights to bring them up to inter-county standard over the next couple of years."
