HL3A: Fingal come good in second half

Fingal came from seven points down at half-time to defeat 14-man Monaghan at Inniskeen.

The north Dublin outfit, who drew with Louth in the first round, looked to in be trouble when the hosts led by 1-7 to 0-3 at the break with Hugh Byrne in fine form from placed balls. But Byrne's dismissal on the stroke of half-time was a major setback for Monaghan who could only manage two further points in the second half.

Frees from JM Sheridan and goals from David Smyth and Brian McCarthy saw the visitors prevail by four points in the end.
