Monaghan sweating on Lennon

Monaghan's Eoin Lennon goes higher than Meath's Paddy Gilsenan
A chipped ankle bone is threatening Owen Lennon's participation in Monaghan's Ulster SFC opener against Antrim on May 27.

The midfielder sustained the injury in a challenge match against Armagh last Sunday and a concerned Farney boss Eamonn McEneaney told the Irish Daily Star: "Obviously we are hoping it might not be too serious and he'll be back."

The news is much better regarding star forward Conor McManus, who came through the Oram challenge unscathed in what was his appearance for Monaghan since their shock All-Ireland qualifier loss to Offaly in Tullamore last summer. The Clontibret clubman is said to have made a successful recovery from groin surgery.

Tommy Freeman is also back in training after injury forced him to miss the latter stages of the Farney County's ill-fated Allianz League campaign, while Darren Hughes and Vinny Corey are also expected to be fit for the Antrim game.
