Ulster Club leagues

March 10, 2010
Monaghan clubs did reasonably well in last weekend's round of matches in the Ulster club football league with victories for Truagh over MacCumhaills of Donegal in the senior league, Donaghmoyne over St Enda's and Doohamlet over Middletown in the intermediate league while Rockcorry were pipped by the minimum margin in their intermediate match against Urney of Tyrone. In hurling things didn't go just as well with just one victory from Monaghan's four matches and that by Monaghan Harps over st. Eunans of Donegal by 2-10 to 1-8. In the other games the concession of goals cost Castleblayney dearly in their game and against Shamrocks of Strabane, Killeavey of Armagh proved too strong for Truagh winning by 3-11 to 2-5 and goals were also the undoing of Carrickmacross in their meeting with Buncrana of Donegal when they went under by 7-8 to 3-4. This weekend Truagh are playing St. Joseph's in the senior football league while in the hurling club league Castleblayney are at home against St Enda's, Truagh are also at home against Clonduff from Down, Carrickmacross have home advantage over Craobh Rua of Armagh and Monaghan Harps travel to Davitts of Antrim.
