Hurlers take on Fermanagh

ALL IANZ HURLING LEAGUE DIV 4.
Monaghan v Fermanagh: Corduff: Sunday March 7th @ 12.45pm.
This Sunday Monaghan are out again in the National Hurling League with the re-fixture of their previously postponed game against Fermanagh which takes place in Corduff with a 12.45 pm start. It had been hoped to stage this game as part of a double bill along with the Monaghan v Tyrone National Football League game in Inniskeen but ultimately following consultations with the Infrastructure Committee in Croke Park it was decided not to go with a double bill. Monaghan did propose playing this game on Saturday in Inniskeen but Fermanagh could not agree to the Saturday fixture. Games between Monaghan and Fermanagh are always keenly contested affairs and Sunday's game will be no different. Fermanagh had a good victory against Leitrim last Sunday and Monaghan picked up the points away to South Down so it is hotting up already in the race for the play-offs. "Fermanagh were impressive in beating Leitrim by all accounts" said Monaghan manager Frank Brady so it will be a biggie because we both are on two points and whoever wins will move up so hopefully we will be able to do the business. However Fermanagh will be coming up to us full of hope and determination and I know we will have to improve on some aspect of our game from last Sunday if we are to take the points. It is disappointing that the game is not part of a double bill in Inniskeen but that was completely out of our hands, the main thing though is that we do the business".
Monaghan will be forced to make one change from the team that started against South Down with James Connolly out of bounds having picked up a red card on Sunday last. Frank Brady though is unlikely to make wholesale changes from the team that started last Sunday although Brian Phelan could be pushing for a starting spot.
