It promises to be one of the most interesting county conventions for some time when the clubs of Monaghan and the Management Committee gather in conclave in the Hill Grove Hotel on Thursday, December 10th for Convention 2010.Generally the most interesting conventions are those where there are elections and this year's convention has come up with a number of very interesting contests. With John Connolly vacating the chair under the five-year rule there will be a contest for that one as well as for the position of vice-chairman and Ailish McEntee looks like having opposition for her post as secretary.The outcome of those elections could mean that there will be further contests, if not on Thursday, December 10th then at an early meeting of the county committee.The convention booklet with the secretary's Annual Report, the Motions for Convention and the Nominations for Elections as well as reports from all of the subcommittees will be circulated shortly.
