UNIVERSAL GRAPHICS JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINAL

Cremartin 4-12

Clones 4-9

A sharper, hungrier Cremartin, deservedly booked their place in the final of the Universal Graphics Junior football championship at the expense of Clones in this entertaining and at times exciting contest that was played in breezy conditions in Scotstown on Sunday evening last.

Cremartin led from gun to tape after hat-trick hero David Hanley opened with a goal and the best that Clones could achieve thereafter was being level at 1-6 apiece 3 minutes into the 2nd half.

Goals played a big part in the second-half as well with Cremartin hitting 2 and Clones netting one in the 3rd quarter to keep the contest very much in the balance and they exchanged goals again in the closing stages as Clones fought back to try and salvage the situation but ultimately they could not close the gap and they paid the price for some slack defending against a very clinical Cremartin.
