Scor season comes to an end

The Scor season in the County came to an end on Sunday afternoon last with the County final of the Acorn Life sponsored Scor Sinsir (Senior Scor) which was held in Tullycorbett Community Centre where nearly packed house was treated to a great evening's entertainment and competition, the standard in the latter giving the adjudicators a difficult time in deciding the winners.

Stephan McMahon from Tullycorbett was a very capable Fear an Tí and great credit is due to the organisers for hosting another Senior Scór event in such an efficient way, with competitions getting under way after Carmel Duffy's rendition of Amhran na Bhfiann.

The results were as follows:

Rince Foirne: Scraibh na gCaorach

Amhránaíocht Aonair: Cathriona Sherlock An Both

Aithriseoireacht: Paddy Sherlock An Both

Bailéad Ghrúpa: Gaeil Triúcha

Rince Seit: Scraibh na gCaorach

The Deirdre Rooney Cup for An Club is Fearr (Best Club) was won by Emyvale with Carol Flood, who took part in 3 of the competitions, accepting the cup on behalf of her club. The winners now progress to the Ulster Semi Final which takes place on Sunday 11th of March.
