Corduff club notes

Lotto:

The Corduff weekly Lotto was held in Mc Ardle's last Sunday 25th February.

There was no winner of the Jackpot which was worth €5,600. The numbers drawn were 13,15,22 and 24.

Congratulations to the Lucky Dip winners Shada, Michael McCahey, Alice McNamee, Amelia and Evelyn Callan and Leah Hand. This week's Lotto Draw will be in Traynor's Shercock with a jackpot of €5,700. The Lotto will be on sale in usual outlets so please support.

 

Monthly Committee Meeting:

The next monthly Committee Meeting is on Wednesday 7th March at 8:45pm in The Heritage Room.

Club League Action Is Around The Corner.

Despite the fact that there is a severe weather alert in place for this week March sees the return to club league action. The Intermediate League commences on Friday 9th March with Corduff at home to Blackhill and the Junior League throws-in on Saturday 10th March with Corduff at home to Clones. Let the games begin for 2018 and good luck to management and players for the coming season.

Allianz & Lidl Football Leagues:

Both Monaghan senior teams head west this weekend in search of wins in their respective National Leagues campaigns. The Farney men play Galway with a 12:30pm throw in on Sunday while the Farney Ladies play Mayo also on Sunday with a venue to be confirmed. Both will be hoping to add more valuable points to their league tables. We extend our best wishes to both teams and management especially to our representatives Barbara Ward and Eva Woods. Remember buy your tickets before match day and save 20%!

Ladies AGM:

The Ladies' AGM was held last Friday night to a capacity crowd in The Heritage Room. Chairperson Bernadette Walsh welcomed everyone. 2017 was a busy year but the most successful one in the history of the club. Chairperson Bernadette, Secretary Denise Hand and Treasurer Joan Farrelly delivered comprehensive annual reports outlining the new juvenile structure, Feile in Corduff and of course the amazing jiourney of our Senior Ladies to the All-Ireland Final which will never be forgotten in the area!

This was followed by the election of officers for 2018 as follows: Chairperson Dermot Hand, Vice Laura McEnaney, Secretary Louise McGivney, Vice Denise Hand, Treasurer Joan Farrelly, Vice Grainne Cassidy, Registrar Joan Farrelly, Vice Denise Hand, PRO Mary McEneaney, Children's Officer Mary Woods, Vice Philomena Hand, Development Officer Laura McEnaney, Vice Darin Baker,

Culture and Language Officer Niamh Callan, Healthy Club Officer Mary Callan. Team representatives are as follows U6's Majella Callan, U8's Denise Hand , U10's Majella Cassidy, U12's Philomena Hand, U14's Ann Higgins and Mary Corrigan, U16's Ann Brennan, Minors Denise Hand and Mary Callan, Seniors Barbara and Mary Ward plus Tom Fox.

It's very encouraging to have so many new faces on board and good luck to everyone for the 2018 season particularly incoming Chairperson Dermot Hand , Secretary Louise McGivney And returning Treasurer Joan Farrelly. Let's hope 2018 will build on the success achieved in 2017.
