Lotto:

The Corduff club Lotto resumes this Sunday 14th January 2018 with the draw taking place in The Mountain Dew and the Jackpot will be worth €5,000. The lotto was hugely successful in 2017 and generated valuable funding for the weekly running of the club . We would like to extend our gratitude to all who supported the lotto in 2017 , those who supported it on a weekly basis, our yearly members, the weekly lotto sellers, the pubs which facilitated the lotto draw every Sunday night and to the Lotto Committee. We look forward to your continued support in 2018.

Committee Meeting / Fogra Cruinnithe

Please be advised that the first Committee meeting of 2018 is next Monday 15th January at 8pm in The Heritage Room. As this is the first meeting of the new year it is extremely important that we have a full attendance to discuss and plan for the 2018 season. Hope to see you there !

 

Inter-County Scene:

The 2018 GAA pre-season competitions threw-in last week with Fermanagh getting the upper hand over Monaghan in Round 1 of the Bank Of Ireland Dr McKenna Cup, section C. The second round against Donegal fell foul to the weather and is rescheduled for this Sunday 14th January in Clones at 2pm.

Round 3 was played last night with Monaghan at home to Queens. We extend best wishes to Monaghan Senior team for the remaining matches in this competition and for the 2018 season.

 

Stewards Training Course:

As a club, Corduff is extremely lucky to have so many volunteers who steward at matches and events to ensure they run smoothly and safely. To maintain a safe and secure environment Monaghan county board are committed to hosting this Stewards Training Course to ensure all venues across the county are safe and family friendly for all matches and events. Therefore, stewards need to be fully trained and certified.

The course will be run in two sessions over the weekend of 3rd/4th February with the first session on Friday 2nd February from 6:30pm - 9:30pm and the second session on the Saturday morning from 9:30 - 12:30. It is mandatory to attend both sessions to be certified. This course is accredited by The Portobello Colege,Dublin.

 

 

Handball:

League

Our GAA League team are away to Bawn on Wednesday at 7:30 for the 6th round of the league.

 

Juvenile Training

Training continues as normal for our juveniles in the Alley on Friday evening at 7pm for 9-13 year olds and 8:15pm for 14-18 year olds.New members are always welcome.

 

Singles League

The singles league is now into its Final week.Please ensure you text Aidan Marron with the results after each game.

 

 

GAA Raffle Tickets

Raffle tickets can be bought from any of our members with half the proceeds going towards club renovations and half to Carrick Cancer.Can members please have them back by the 14th of January.

 

Monaghan County Championship

Best of luck to 20 of our members from Minor to Senior taking part in the county championship starting this week.

 

Kingscourt Shootout.

Well done to James Gavaghan who took part in Kingscourt shootout tournament with 32 of the country's top players.

 

Handball Coaching Course.

Carrickmore Handball Club are hosting a certified Foundation Coaching Course on Sunday 14th January. If any Club members are interested then please confirm their interest ASAP.

 

Couch to 5K!

It's back! Couch to 5k returns this Saturday 13th January on the track to help you keep your New Year resolutions! If you wish to weigh in please check into the Corduff Raferagh Community Centre at 9am or be on the track at 9:25. The cost per participant is €20 which is extremely good value.

( Please note this is not a Corduff Gaels event but we fully support it)
