Meath 16's

(Oldest Posts First)

Seen articles regarding Meath 14's and Meath 15's but nothing about Meath 16's?? Not sure if they have started up yet however i have been to a number of u16 and Minor games lately and u16 players who impressed me were:

Darragh Nolan-Dunboyne
Sean Conlon-Simonstown
Frankie Cullen-Simonstown
Robbie Clarke-Skyrne
Saran O'Fionnagain-Wolfe Tones
Oisin Martyn-Dunderry
Eoin Harkin-Dunsany

Definitely a solid backbone to what could make a could make a good Meath 16's team

16's sent two teams to Roscommon. One team beat Mayo and Laois. The other team beat Mayo but lost to Roscommon. Roscommon only had one team though

I think that the standard in Meath under 16 football is of a reasonable standard. The top Teams in Division 1 play some nice Football , St Peter's Dunboyne , Na Fianna , Ratoath and Dunshaughlin . These 4 teams are a long way ahead or the rest and all 4 have very been very well coached all the way through.

Both teams won their first games against full strength Westmeath and Wicklow. Monaghan and Louth up next then Cavan and Dublin. I was just wondering if anybody knows does this competition translate to minor usually or is there not much correlation

No idea but see HS articles that U12 & U13 hurlers as well as U14 & U15 Dev squads are training away. Think U17 footballers are training too so presume the U16s will be training as well. Think they all play blitzes for rest of year.
