Absolutely nothing in it. Didnt see a single punch thrown. Must be a slow news day.

Just another excuse to beat both the GAA and Meath GAA in particular with. Typical Indo!

lads....did you watch the video? to say that there was nothing in it is too much of a 'meath' response. Its things like this that are the reason why the image of meath football around the country is so poor.

they were very unsavoury scenes, and to any children watching the game it promotes the wrong image of the game.

Compliments to the ref for being able to identify 3 of the perpetrators, however by the looks of things a lot more could have seen red.

Dubsout - you may want to retract your comment of 'compliments to the ref for identifying 3 players' and check out the facts before commenting in future !

The incident has been slightly mis-reported in that the referee took absolutely no action what so ever for that incident... not so much as a yellow card was issued, there had however been 3 earlier red cards for a totally harmless incident which caused a lot of confusion and was the catalyst for the bust up at half-time.

It was the usual case of a lot of pushing and shoving and not much else, the county board need to look out what actually caused the row before they going blaming either of the two clubs.

Wont someone think of the children!!! Maybe someone should ring Joe Duffy!!! Give it a rest , Cant see anything
But from that angle looks like handbags .Looked more like a Flash mob than anything serious, Indo wouldnt want to look at itself
reporting on something like that and trying to blow it up

Whether there was punches thrown or not, it looks (and is) absolutely ridiculous. When you see 5 or 6 lads (from the team in the red jerseys) attacking 1 or 2 guys from the other team you'd have to have serious concerns for safety. The fact that it's in front of a stand of people makes it even worse. I have been playing GAA at Senior Club level for more than 10 years and have never witnessed any mass brawls (or whatever you call them) like this.

pdemsey- you would not have to go very far back into the records to see your own county involved a bit of shanaghans- what was the name of the big guy? (his daughter could have pulled a muscle trying to get him of the pitch!)

Anyway about the incident- A very poor decision by an ill-informed linesman in collaboration with a poor ref decision sending off 3 players for some hand-bags contributed to what went on at half -time. In the real world some folk do get very heated when the see an injustice. In fairness to the Indo they may have wanted to take some heat away from the water protests!!!!

well said Brown, we wont even mention the brawl Mayo started and failed to finish in 96 all Ireland final...anyway, brawl or no brawl, the Indo couldnt wait to plaster it over the paper online..cheap tacky journalism..

I played in that game and witnessed the "brawl". There was NOT three players sent off before, during or after the brawl. The brawl at half time was vicious enough and the camera missed most of this. If it caught it, there would surely have been suspensions pending, it was an appalling incident. However, the county board must take certain responsibilities for the brawl. Fixing the same 2 teams, in 2 different county finals in the space of 20 odd days was madness. Add the 1 pt defeat in along with terrible weather conditions and it certainly was a case of, "familiarity breeding contempt". Don't be putting teams down when your uninformed. It reflects poorly on your intellect.
