We have the ability to win the All-Ireland World Championship in my opinion.

Honestly, i reckon a Leinster Semi final / final at best, and a tame effort in the backdoor of probably about 3 wins if the draw goes there way, and yes i am a Meath man!! Meath are fighting now to be a top 3 team in Leinster and top 10 in Ireland unfortunately thats to be expected when its been years since we have a had a class centre back, midfield pairing, and a couple consistant intercounty forwards! No manager can change these facts cos the quality just isint available at the moment, any dreamers out there who think Meath will topple the Dubs like they did in 1996 have no football brain!!

We hammered Dublin out the gate in 2010 and have never lost to them by more than a point or 2 so why don't you think we can beat them? Kildare are the team I would least like to meet as they always seem to have an edge in fitness over us.

Yeah well I don't think an All-Ireland is in our grasp and I find it difficult to see us beating Kildare and Dublin(will do well to beat one),so a leinster looks difficult. I just think we need to build if we can. Although this Dublin team are one of the worst winners I have seen,so I don't think we have to be as good as we where before (when winning titles),but we need to find a good midfield duo,an Intelligent centre forward and a few corner backs if we are to seriously challenge for an all-Ireland in a few years. But we need to find those and keep a management team.We have a few talented forwards, but one great game cancelled out by 4 poor one's every year isn't good enough(Cian Ward) Bray is still or best forward for work-rate and consistency..

Lads, wicklow and carlow should be both easy games...then its kildare and I think we have the beating of them becuase there was 3 points between us and them in navan last year and we all know the penalty decision was very questionable. If banty has the boys firing this year we could find ourselves in a leinster final after beating just one good team. But as for after leinster its hard to know...Depends who were up agenist.Need to have a decent League campaign aswel and get a winning mentality into the boys heads.

im just dying for a crack at the dubs.ive a pain in my face listening to them in work since september and i honestly considered seen could i get banty to bring the squad in to work in my job for a week to fire them up.as has been mentioned were never far away from them no matter what level were at and im just living for a go at them!!having said that id settle for being in the mix to go up to division 1 and possible beating kildare if we can get that far

We must top div 2 ,weve been in the dumps too long now , this year banty must have it right. I think winning over kildare in the leauge will be a huge mental win for the current panel and this will be our motovation for the championship .

The key word here is honestly...... So honestly we should we 3 of the 4 home games Monaghan Kildare Derry and Louth. I think the Banty element should see us beat Monaghan and we should handle Louth, Honestly I think we could beat Kildare this time but cant see us winning all 4 at home not that Derry are hetic but 3 out of 4 would be realistic. Beat Derry and lose to Kildare

On the road remembering we have not won away in the League in 2010 or 11, Honestly 1 win would be a bonus and that must be Westmeath as wins in Galway or Tyrone look a tall order.

So 8 points in the League and a mid table spot.

In the Championship Wicklow can be tough as Armagh found out last year but we should get over them and I would expect a 7/8 point win over Carlow and Honestly I think we will take Kildare and would take a League defeat for a Leinster Semi win which I feel will happen. Leinster Final against the Dubs I could never back against Meath .

Honestly mid table in League, One win over Kildare and a Leinster Final appearance is my wish list

Up against two of the strongest teams in the country in Dublin & Kildare.
We need to put eveything into this years Leinster championship.
Do or die stuff.
A bit more of the attitude the lads showed in Navan against the lilies when they went out and got stuck in.
This time we need to do it in Croke park though.

I would agree totally with Glenny to be fair, can only see us winning away from home against Westmeath(but we could even slip up),would be delighted with 3 home wins from 4.
Just a quick word on Coylers post, you are right we need to beat Kildare in Croke Park,it's easier to be up for it in Navan, and Croke Park suits Kildare better, but we cannot look beyond Wicklow, yes we should beat them ,but....

Being an arrogant Meath man I'm not afraid of anybody but being a rational Meath man swell I know that this current team and management just aren't good enough to take us forward. I think if we play to our very best this year with our very best players then yes we can win Leinster again, no doubt about it, if we got to the final and played Dublin I wouldn't be in the least bit afraid of them, infact because they're AI champions surely adds extra spice to the occasion.

Now unfortunately, inevitably we will pick up injuries and for some unknown reason our lads don't believe they can beat Kildare so a Leinster SF exit is far more likely and then we're at the mercy of the draw. If the draw is kind to us we could make the AI QFs and maybe spring a shock but after that its most definitely game over, ball burst.

Anything is possible. Down came from nowhere in 2010, and then last year, Mayo ended up beating the All-Ireland champions after drawing with London a few weeks earlier. A lot of it comes down to luck as well. Last year, we had loads of bad luck. A change in fortune would help.

honestly what I would like for the year are as follows,
O'byrne cup final against Dublin,
make the league final and get the fans behind the team before the championship
get to a leinster final against dublin. the only team i would take for granted is carlow. wicklow some meath fans will take for granted but that wont be an easy game if were not going into the championship in good form.

Have to aim for a top two position in the league, given The year Galway had last year I don't see why we shouldn't be capable of beating them away from home and Tyrone have never found it too easy against us so if we can keep the home form decent and sort out our love/hate relationship with the league we should be in with a shout of a promotion spot. Thereafter we should be looking at getting back into a Leinster Final, Wicklow will not be easy they are a decent championship side who have improved greatly but with a decent league under our belts we should be winning that game and the Carlow one to face Kildare or Offaly and who knows maybe Gerry Cooney will work the oracle in the Faithful County, certainly Kildare would not want to take that one for granted as Offaly have a bit of a track record of producing big performances when least expected. Personally I hope we get the chance to meet Kildare, Meath are capable of beating them and we owe them one and a meeting with them would be a big incentive for the players.

Another positive about making the final of the cup and getting to the final of the league is that it creates hype within the county and the crowds going to games will be much bigger. That will motivate the team to train harder and perform to the best of their ability on match days.

After only beating sligo in the league last year (and that game was dreadful) we had literally the worst crowd i've ever seen at a home league game in Navan for the final match against Tyrone who probably had more support there. Don't want that happening again.

Ok honestly first off obyrne cup final against dub and I honestly believe if that's what happens we will win it. League agree again that we will win 3/4 at home. Now away that is difficult but can't see them slipping up in mullingar and also can't see them loosing to galway who despite the game in navan last year are a team very much in decline and I know from some galway folks that they are counting the meath game as a loss just concentrating on staying in div 2. Not my words. And then onto championship. Well now hear is where it gets fun. Wicklow tough but we will squeeze out a win by maybe 2 points or 1. Carlow more confident and a win by 5+ be written off by media etc before kildare game go out and perform to best standard in years blow kildare away by 6/7 points then onto dubs in final tight game a goal will win it and cluxton will be remembering last meeting even if not talking about it lol. Win leinster spillane complains that we intimidated poor stephen and calls for replay we tell him go away or words to that effect. Then meet and beat a qualifier semis? Then we dream ? I honestly think last 4 in all ireland and maybe just maybe we get to final and then its ours.
