Looks like the Wood will be safe after their win against Castletown yesterday. By the looks of things Castletown are favourites to go down. Can they raise their game for Clan Na Gael or will they drop timidly? GoalsWinGames (Meath) - Posts: 322 - 23/08/2010 13:59:01 753616 Link 0 |

although we lost by four pints to the wood we will stay up with a superior points difference of about 15 points after the clan na gael match del_bhoy (Meath) - Posts: 1 - 24/08/2010 13:40:22 754746 Link 0 |

Swansong- That's what Castletown said when they decided to drop to intermediate in the early 90's. It wont be easy for any team to get out of Junior, look at Don/Ash. GoalsWinGames (Meath) - Posts: 322 - 24/08/2010 17:02:21 755173 Link 0 |

Swansong are you sure you are a Castletown man?? Because if you are i would really appreciate you to make ur identity known and should you be a player/selector or even manager you would be better off stayin away from the Clann Na Gael game because our club is stepped in history at Senior and Intermediate level,no mention of Junior in it and a true Castletown man dosent want it to be,so leave ur negative and defeatest attitude at home, i sincerely hope ur not a current player!! iamurdad (Meath) - Posts: 93 - 24/08/2010 18:34:49 755347 Link 0 |

Swansong is exactly what's wrong with the club. Looking for the easy option. You think dropping down is the answer, well it's not. Castletown would be the laughing stock of North Meath. They have the players that should be well able to compete at intermediate level, as seen by getting to the final a couple of years ago, and the fact that all their losses have been very tight over the past 2 years. Look at their neighbours Rathkenny & Tones and tell me that they shouldn't be aspiring to be up at that level. GoalsWinGames (Meath) - Posts: 322 - 25/08/2010 15:33:16 756092 Link 0 |

No Swansong you really havent a clue, this team was in an Intermediate final 3yrs ago and and with 13 of that starting team still available for selection (And some great talent after coming through in the last 3 yrs) how can you say that they are better off dropping down!! I think you are just seeking a bit of glory in Junior grade which bear in mind dosent come easy! This team had had 3 inexperienced managers in last 3 seasons which i believe have contributed to there unfortunate results, Last year they should have topped there group but for two one point defeats and they are easily maintaining Div 2 status, name another junior team that does that?? None!! Dropping would be a disaster for players who have seeked that IFC glory for so long,If ur not a current player then i dont know why i am even getting annoyed with ur opinion your most likely someonw that never kicked a ball beyond the age of 15! iamurdad (Meath) - Posts: 93 - 25/08/2010 19:05:46 756372 Link 0 |

how come in castletown its always the managers fault ? never the players ? swansong (Meath) - Posts: 94 - 25/08/2010 22:05:21 756557 Link 0 |

Its not the players because if it was they wouldnt have been so close in 2007 and almost still have the same bunch of lads, i believe its also true that former players and current players approached the manager to inform him training wasnt hard enough?? Whos is at fault there Swansong?? Maybe the committe seen as they re-appointed him after the majority of players were against his return! iamurdad (Meath) - Posts: 93 - 31/08/2010 21:53:01 762041 Link 0 |
