Peter Moore - RIP

(Oldest Posts First)

Whatever else is discussed on these threads, it is simply not acceptable not to record the passing of the great Peter Moore.

It was Peter who learned most of us of the name Ballinabrackey.

I well remember in particular his two great goals which downed Mayo in 1967, when he swapped placed with Mattie Kerrigan.

A regular attender at all Meath matches until his illness, he was present at last year's semi Final against Kerry.

A supreme sportsman.

May he forever rest in peace.

From everybody in Offaly our best wishes are with his family and all around him at this time.

He did great work during his time involved in the local clubs around Tullamore, and it was an honour to see him manage our under 21's back in the 90's.

May he rest in peace.

A true GAA legend, a giant of a man. Ard Ri should step in here with some stories.. Contributed massively to the Offaly steel of the mid 90's. May he rest in peace.

I think he did on another thread. I'd like to add that it's a real pleasure to hear these accounts of Meath gaels from another era. They were before my time and it was a very different game of football but none the less, it makes you that bit more appreciative of the game's traditions around these parts.
