Well he's only named 2 trap, & Newman has potential to be a decent county player, so wouldnt call him overrated yet!

Trap

But thats the point, how many times have you seen him play poorly for Meath seniors or juniors to say he is overrated?

i just think he is missing something to go on and play at the highest standard,we will see more of him over the next couple of months so that will give us an idea of how good or not so good he really is..

David Morgan form Don/Ash is also eligible as he did not play senior championship football in 2009

Being an avid follower of intermediate football, this is a decent side, but no representatives from any of the three inter semi-finalists from last year. Ray Magee and Andy Farrelly from Kilmainhamwood and Gavin Farrelly, Andy Hayes and Brian O'Reilly from Nobber should all make the panel at least to name just a few. Terrence Farrelly, Rory McHugh and Gilsenan should be in with a strong shout as Inter champions. Also, Wayne Reilly was on the Louth Junior panel last year!!! Also, there are many better goalkeepers than Ginnity in the county. The goalkeeper from Moynalvey (sorry I don't know his name) is a good solid keeper with a great kick-out. Benjy Smith from Ballinlough for corner back? Opinions on these players and other suggestions would be good?

I don't understand why Richard Donnelly is not on this team. He was at the AFL trials and stood out. Very tall

Apologies,my knowledge of teams in the north and west of Meath is a bit dodgy!Ye I definitely agree there should be representives from the 3 other Intermediate semi-finalists Oldcastle,Nobber and Dunderry. Also a representitive from Dunsany,Stephen Clynch would be a decent corner back although I know he's probaly enough commitments with the hurling.David Morgan would be an excellent player to have.A very competitive panel could be assembled!!!

This team is still being debated. I dont understand. Firstly its probably already picked so forget about this guy or that guy if their not already on. Secondly its basically the Meath second team so why dont people discuss the Meath first team! Thirdly, It should be made up of guys who represented the county before, young guys coming through minor and twnety ones ranks , cast offs from the snior team. Forget about random club footballers lads also forget about players who play second team senior club as this team should beat most senior teams and if a player cant make it how on earth can they make this. The team last year was a joke though and i believe Navan O Mahonies would have hammered them.

The junior team should be made of players coming through the ranks Ie Michael Newman Brian Sheridan etc. Not old players !! Personally i reckon Jody Devine will do a good job with the team!!
