Coyler I have been saying that for last 3 games. They look very tired I even asked after derry game was it too much training or lack of it.

And to be honest if anyone thinks that our only problem is the manager is not a meath man they are deluded. We had 15 meath men on today and vast majority showed no respect to they jersey or to the supporters. And above all it seems more like a chore to play for meath than a honor. Of course bant has to go. But so has most of this squad. I have heard lads on hear go on about players who should be given a chance if you look back I bet most included farrell in starting 15? We are meath men and still we can't get it right they are at least 8 players who started today who are not up to ic level. That is the stone cold hard facts. And no meath man or a man from any other county can turn them into ic players.

What's needed is not only new management but also co board must resign in full and not seek reelection and finally start off with a almost entirely new panel. Picked on youth and future abillity.

Can someone please tell me one good thing that Banty has done for meath football since being appointed? We were discussing it in the car on the way home and can;t think of anything which he has brought to Meath football? There is no one positive.

New managers generally bring one or more of the fllowing
1. Discover new players (be they in the county or bring them through from minor)
2. Add passion
3. Devise a successful game plan based on the players available
4. Add a heightened level of fitness

Seamus McEnaney has brought none of the above. I'm sorry but there is no basis to continue wasting money on the alleged expenses he his taking for training the meath senior team.

To be fair trevor giles seems to be as much involved in this team as gg or any of the selectors.

Bite the bullet. Beg sean boylan to come back for championship. With maybe trev and gg as selectors. If any man can marry our traditional play with the modern game successfully then it is sean. Sack the county board NOW

For those of you sickened and tired with Meath football at this point, now's the ideal time to remember that we also have a hurling team, and they are playing in the league final against Kildare next Sunday in Parnell Park. They could do with as much support as possible, and should they win they will be playing in a higher division than the footballers in 2013.

A right royal kick in the A*** for Meath . this is just whats needed to wipe the slate completely clean and start again from square one . Well done to Louth , no better team to dole out a drubbing and actually have done Meath a huge favour today . Now if there was any doubt ,we know exactly where we are ,! Maybe more than management team needs to go before there is a football renaissance in Meath. It is not fair to disrespect anyone individually for this debacle of a season but there is surely some serious deficit of "the Right Stuff' in the Meath camp. Nobody deliberately sets out to fail , so the only answer is to change what is being done and that starts with the people involved. The County Board needs to assess themselves and their value to future of Meath football. The whole set-up needs to be examined , but who is going to initiate that?

not sure of the age profile here, but i remember back to the early 80s.. losing to wexford and longford in Leinster.. a terrible gut wreching feeling, and i was a kid,,i just hope we havent come full circle, i hear alot about the talent in the county, but is it up to scratch?.. we have dont little in minor ot u21 in the last decade..we are facing into the abyss if we dont stop the rot now!!
i train alot of juveniles at my club, i try to give them some of my experience, but what i have noticed is by the time they are 16-18 they lose interest..fixtures get muddled, and the whole thing becomes a farce. we need everyone on the same side, pulling the same way, unfortunately this aint happening, and if u make a complaint, its swept under the carpet!!..i hope im wrong

I agree and in fairness it was his apparent failure to do this that people said he should retire after 2004 and 2005. Personally I felt it was more the loss and burnout of the likes of Cormac Sullivan, Ollie Murphy, Trevor Giles, Mark O'Reilly and Paddy Reynolds far too early in their careers that blighted Boylan's challenge towards the end.

By the way it has been the policy of todays management NOT to use players from Junior clubs which is totally at odds with Boylan's selections of the past. What would Meath have achieved under Boylan had O'Malley, O'Connell, Gillic, Flynn, L Smyth P&J Henry, B Reilly, Colm Brady, J McDermot, E Kelly, J McGuinness, A Moyles, D Reagan, M Burke and many more not been picked by Seán from Junior clubs?

Any of the Junior clubs that went down to Navan and voted Eamon O'Brien out of his job that night without knowing it voted against the best of their own lads getting as much as an O'Byrne Cup game for their county. Before the above fact is disputed (or edited as I seem so often to be) as yourself how many Junior players have gotten a run of any sort under the current set-up

is there anyone who knows what is going on in the meath camp? because it seems to be alot more than just not having the players there, we have all seem these exact same players go out and play well against teams e.g tyrone, Dublin who if we played now we wouldnt have a chance against and talent just doesnt dissapear like that. We would have all been the first people to come on here and praise these players for playing so well in the past but now suddenly everyone thinks there no good at all? i think the only thing that has changed about these players is there attitudes. there are plenty of county teams who wouldnt have players nearly as talented as ours but they still go out and try there best for their county eg louth and westmeath today. when the meath players want to win and are actualy trying they are a great team however this year espically they just have this attitude of not being bothered which is unacceptable and i can only think that they are being this way because they are unhappy with the managment because if the management was doing the right job and giving the players the encouragement and motivation needed, the players would not have this attitude. like in some of the matches this year e.g DCU, Derry, Tyrone they werent even bothered to run after there man or chalenge properly to get the ball and also as another poster said at the game today the subs didnt even go in at half time this clearly shows the players attitude is bad and there must be a reason for this. Banty really needs to go he is doing no good for meath or for himself by staying.

Obviously their are problems in the camp, but I wonder if we have too many egos? The county board situation and the lack of infastructure at under-age level are huge problems,BUT our current players should be doing better.
I honestly don't know where we go from here? Do we get rid of the manager before the champ? If we do where do we go?
