Lovelylilies

Your damn right ,your county is your county, why in hell would you want to play for someone else, especially when you have played for that county for a number of years,as Johnston has..

I have to say I can't wait to see the game in navan in 2 weeks yous have a great rivalry going. The banter back and fourth on hs is great (royaldunne 6 out of 10 I'm never forgetting that), I just hope setanta or tg4 are showing it. My money is on the royals but my money is on Kildare come the summer. Meath forwards are to slow for the hard ground in my opinion.

In fairness, they're equally slow on soft ground.

3 losses in a row for kildare. Surely this is the time to catch them. We seem to have improved they seem to have regressed (on evidence so far) still early tho.
But feel we are set for a decent run including championship

Clondalkin glad you liked my post. it was just a absurd post aimed at 2 or 3 kildare fans who were equally been absurd.
Never thought it would be taking seriously but to be honest the reaction was classic. I don't think I've ever laughed as much.

But on your other point I do agree we have more acurate but slow forwards. Think tho both paddy gilsennan and graham reilly have pace so it might just even out come summer

Tough one to call between the two of yous. Kildare have started poorly but when catch sight of the meath they will no doubt up there game. Head says meath heart says kildare. Makes for good viewing...

If this crop of Meath players can't beat Kildare in two weeks, I don't know if they ever will.
1. Kildare have lost three on the bounce.
2. Meath are playing well at the moment.
3. The match is in Navan

All the factors favour us, I just hope we do it

lads at the end of the day, anything can happen on the day/night. i dont think having home advantage makes any difference to meath because even last year against galway i couldnt believe what was happening on the field. we were lucky galway couldnt score that day, and then kildare at home we put up a decent display but they were too strong and fit for us.
regarding two weeks time, if we win, lads here will be thinking we should beat them in championship. this shouldnt be the case as kildare has shown since mcgeeny taking over they are a top team who never complain when they have been wrongly done by, eg against down!! i also think this is a defining year for kildare as mcgeeny is there 3/4 yrs now, if they have a bad year players and management might want a change. this really is a important year for them!
if kildare had there strongest team out against us (as they have so many injuries), im not so sure what the outcome would be. theres some meath fans getting exciting far too early for my liking, although im looking forward to the champioship because we have forwards that can cause havoc

The game is on Setanta but any meath man or woman who can go to this game but chooses to stay at home and watch it on TV are only fair weather fans. No doubt all the real Meath fans who are free will go.

Don't think any one getting carried away. I have been of believe that meath aint that far away from top for a number of years. If you take out the time after final in 10 until this year. This teams record would stand up to most. The reason I exclude that time is I feel it thrown the team into disarray. So I still have faith that we can achieve a long summer maybe even spring?

Yes ziggy I too think stronger than we were in 06. And I'm starting to think a few of these meath posters are perhaps not all that they seem? Maybe some might not be as genuine as there county name would suggest?

Meath are ahead of kildare on paper at this stage even bookies have them fav to win on 3rd. Now whether that happens or not is entirely different

We can do all the talking in the world before March the third but it won't mean much if we lose to Kildare. They will most likely finish ahead of us if we lose to them. It's only the league but it's a huge game for us both Kildare don't want a risk of relegation and Meath want promotion.

Cant see us winning this one. We have been unable to turn things around when they have gone pearshaped in the league for the last 4 years. I'd be happy with a good performance and a decent scoring return from our forwards. We should be capable of avoiding relegation over the last 4 games. If Meath win then you would have to fancy them and Tyrone to go up.

Bit rough having it scheduled the same day as the opening fixture of the Minor Leinster league
