I see your thinking all right.

If I had to put in a modern day player myselg, Id prob go with Stephen Bray. I think he's the only player that would have been good enough to play on say the 96 or 99 team. Intelligent on the ball, calm head in pressure situations. Seems to just have that bit of class that many others lack.

Thats of course when he's on form, but by God he can be frustraing when he's not.

thejoeshow I couldn't leave M.Lyons out he is just to much of good solid player and would do well at corner back because he would the burst of speed over the short distance to help deal with corner forwards and mate G.Geraghty best position was always in the half back line.

The Best Meath team of last 30 years. Only O Reilly,Reynolds, Mc Dermott, Dowd, Geraghty and Giles would get on 80's team. Fay unlucky to lose out to Lyons. No modern day player would have any chance. Too soft and pampered.

1. M. McQuillan
2. R. O Malley
3. M. Lyons
4. M. O Reilly
5. P. Reynolds
6. L. Harnan

10. G. Geraghty
11. T. Giles

13 C. O Rourke
14. B. Stafford
15. B. Flynn

To be fair Jinxie,Kevin Reilly could have played somewhere on those teams, and Joe is a better full-forward than Barry Callaghan was
