I think its a disgrace that the Meath Minor County Board have fixed all 1st round matches on St.Patricks Day. where most mentors or players would like to go to Croke Park which i belive could be a cracking two games! Like they could of fixed it for any other day as the 2nd round is nt till 3 weeks after the 1st one! What would be wrong playing it thursday evening or next weekend? its almost certain most of the games wont go ahead. im more concerned about each team only getting 5 games. and in the lower divisions its a cert that all the games wont even be played JulianstownBoyo (Meath) - Posts: 196 - 15/03/2010 21:42:05 589259 Link 0 |

I heard that the CCC refused premission to move one match from St Patricks day to Monday 22nd March even though both sides agreed in writing to moving. The reason was not to do with the matches in Croke Park but that one of the sides has a schools final this weekend and did not want to risk their players! wottonboy (Meath) - Posts: 21 - 16/03/2010 09:33:23 589346 Link 0 |

wottonboy, I'm involved with that match...bit of a joke. We only found out at about half ten Monday night that the match was re-fixed for St. Patrick's Day. Would have suited us to have it on Monday as well because there's a boxing fundraiser on the 16th that some of the team is involved in. True to form though, the county board manage to screw everyone over, and mess things up on us all. dunbainneman (Meath) - Posts: 36 - 16/03/2010 13:22:18 589652 Link 0 |
