Fixture Lists

(Oldest Posts First)

Hi Folks,
Is anyone able to direct me to a fixture list for league games? I have checked meath.gaa.ie but there is no dates on the fixture schedule. I know there is a round of games scheduled for this coming weekend and I wanted to see when games are on;

I presume no games will be fixed for Sunday afternoon given the Meath Dublin game?

You would think that there wouldnt be any games on sunday with Meath vs Dublin on at 2:00pm in Croke Park but that is where you are wrong. The geniuses on the Meath CCC obviously don't want supporters going to the Meath game as they have fixed several A & B League games for Sunday at 11:00am, three hours before the Meath Dublin match. It's just mind boggling at this stage the absolute farse that the CCC have become in the last 16 months in particular. Drip feeding fixtures out at less than 10 days notice for most games, and fixtures for round 2 of the leagues were made last Wednesday and are still, still not up on the Meath GAA website that hasn't been updated since the 28th February. No wonder some players and managers want nothing to do with the club game in Meath. And now rumours of games being played on St Patrick's day morning to just add to the on going mess. A set in stone fixture list for all league games (date/time/venue) from the first round to the last should have been designed and circulated at the start of the year so that everyone could work around it. But I suppose that would take a little bit of effort and thinking so that clearly wasn't a runner for the brains trust in the CCC.

Fixture details have been on the Meath page on here since last week:

Throw-in time on Sunday is pushed back to 3:15 now as well so the Sunday morning games should be less of a hassle.

Everyone happy now?

Reality is there was a fixture plan/list (whatever word you want to use) issue at the start of the year which due to weather had to be adjusted at the first round, they is why there could potentially be games played on Paddys day. All club secretaries have been informed of when their teams are playing and all players and managers know when they are playing. Everything official comes through the secretary. While the website should reflect same, that is not a reason why players are not playing. Everyone knew that the 2nd round of fixtures was on this weekend.

I suppose seen as how good you are at giving out about everything BigJoe, youll be willing to step up to the plate and solve all the issues you love giving out about. Easy to hide there when youll not be known

Personally think there has been a major improvement in the fixture in the county over the past 2 yrs and it has been improving for a longer period. There are alot of variables which need to be considered

Great stuff - thanks for that. I'll check HS in future instead of meath.gaa.ie
