Young Royals see off Dublin

Meath's Mark Collins
Meath progressed to the semi-finals of the ESB Leinster MFC with an extra time win over Dublin in Parnell Park. Meath 0-14 Dublin 0-10 Darragh Smyth opened the scoring for Meath before Dublin took the lead with two placed balls only for Mark Collins to equalises with the first of his seven points on the day. The sides swapped scores all through the first half and seemed to go into the break level only for Collins to put Meath 0-5 to 0-4 ahead at the break. Dublin took control on the restart and led by 0-9 to 0-6 with little over ten minutes remaining, by which stage Meath had lost midfielder David Ryan to a second yellow card. Three late points from Collins, a long range Micahel Newman sideline kick from outside the 45 metre line and Mark Battersby sent the game to extra time. Three points from Collins (2) and Sean Dalton had Meath 0-12 to 0-9 ahead midway through extra time before they ran out four point winners.
