Carnaross in U14 final

Carnaross played Clonard in the under 14 division 3 championship semi-final in Walterstown. It was a very close and exciting game with both teams dominating the game at different times. Clonard got some early points from play but Carnaross fought back and helped by a goal from a free from Dean Connell lead by 1-3 to 0-4 at half-time. Colm McDonagh scored an early goal for Carnaross in the second half to stretch Carnaross's lead to six points. Barry O'Connor scored two great points from play, Shane Casserly and Michael Brogan added two more to make the game save with five minutes to go. Colm McDonagh added another goal in injury time to leave the final score 3-8 to 0-8 in favour of Carnaross.   Best for Carnaross were the outstanding Charles Brogan, Cian Gillic and Barry O'Connor in defence, Charles Dillon at midfield and Dean Connell, Shane Casserly and Colm McDonagh in attack .  Carnaross: Thomas Plunkett, John Carpenter, Charles Brogan, Peter Carpenter, Gary McDermott (0-1), Cian Gillic, Barry O'Connor (0-2), Conor Peate, Charles Dillon, Shane Casserly (0-1),  Dean Connell (1-2 ), Ryan Lang, Michael  Brogan (0-1), John Ward, Colin McDonagh (2-1).
