June 07, 2006
Wednesday 7th June sees a number of matches in the Knock Out stages of the U-14 Leagues and Championships. Division 1 Big hitters St Martins and Ratoath clash in Kilbride with Jimmy Burke [Blackhall Gaels] the man in the middle. St Martins are favourites but if Ratoath can find the form that brought them to within a goal of the Dunshaughlin/Drumree combination then a surprise could be in the making. In Trim the other Semi Final takes place with Round Towers expected to overcome Na Fianna who have made good progress after winning U-13 Division 2 in the Autumn. Peter McDonagh [Clan na Gael is the Referee here. Two Division 2 Quarter Finals also go ahead with Curraha already in the last four following their win over Syddan. Dunderry are picked to quailify to meet Curraha but Division 4 table toppers Ballinlough will not go down without a fight. St Vincents might catch St Patricks on the hop in Stalmullen with the Pats on a high after winning the Divison 3 League crown last week and their close neighbour would like nothing better than to lower their colours. Longwood, Drumconrath/Meath Hill or Seneschalstown await the winners here. Division 3 has a Quarter Final and a semi Final on With Blackhall expect to beat Rathkenny and go on to face Favourites Moynalty with its the toss of a coin between Clonard and Carnaross to see whose ist to make the Final. This match takes place in Walterstown with Liam OBrien in the middle. One League final takes place with Ballivor playing Bective/Cannistown in Division 6 with Brendan Darby taking control in Summerhill. Ballivor appear to hold too many aces here.
