The Meath SUPER-VALU U-14 competitions got underway at the weekend with a number of postponements along the way due to Confirmation in the Kells Parish which affected Round Towers, Gael Colmcille, Carnaross and St Cuthberts. When you add in the wet weather of the past week you find more matches off. Most of these games should be played before the next round is due to take place on the 25th March as St Patrick's Weekend is a free weekend. Results in are as follows In the top match of the day the clash of the U-13 Div 1 Finalists of last year Ratoath and St Martins saw the Dunshaughlin/Drumree combination score a big win over their keenest rivals 3-12 to 0-5. Another big Div 1 clash was the Navan parish meeting of OMahonys and Simonstown and OMahony's gained the bragging rights here while the Div 2 winners of U-13 2005 Na Fianna got away to a good start in Div 1 with victory over Trim. In Div 2 three games went ahead as the Piltown pitch [St Colmcilles] was deemed unplayable. In the games played beaten U-13 Div 2 Finalists Walterstown went under to Wolfe Tones while in the other 2 games Skyrne overcame Donaghmore/Ashbourne and Summerhill beat Clan na Gael. Division 3 saw promoted St Vincents score an easy win over neighbours Curraha, Dunderry came away with full points from their trip to Nobber while Inny Gaels had a narrow victory over Oldcastle. In Divisions 4, 5 and 6 only two matches took place as Ballinlough beat Castletown and Moynalty beat Bru na Boinne. In the Reserve competition Simonstown's second string turned the tables on their town rivals with a big win over O'Mahony's while St Colmcilles made it a bad day for Donaghmore/Ashbourne all round as the East Meath team won by 2 points as the other two matches fell to the weather and Confirmation.
