Schools: Kilmessan reclaim Division 2 title

Kilmessan's Mark Horan keeps control despite the efforts of Jack Murray (Kill NS) during the Division 2 hurling final

Kilmessan won back the Allianz Meath Cumann na mBunscol Division 2 hurling title, they last held in 2015, with this comfortable win over Kill NS in the opening game of the Meath schools final at Lomans Park Trim.

Early points from Jack Lynch and Mark Horan along with a goal from Padraic Horan set Kilmessan on the road to victory. Joint captain Horan finish the half with a second goal and Kilmessan went in at the break 2-6 to 0-0 in front.

The second half followed the same pattern. Adam O'Neill got their third goal early on and Finn Conroy followed up with a point to open up a 15 point gap. Kill NS eventually got on the scoreboard through Martin Forde but Kilmessan were too strong on the day and a fourth goal from Jason Gorman sealed their victory.

After the game joint captains Lorcan Byrne and Mark Horan were presented with the Division 2 hurling cup.
