Ballinabrackey 0-07 Blackhall Gaels 1-05

Ballinabrackey returned to division 2 of the A league after a ten year absence with a narow one point loss at home to senior outfit Blackhall Gaels. Aiming for the senior ranks this year the Bracks were looking to kick off with a win. In tough conditions both teams put in a huge effort. Scores were hard to come by for both teams and points from Damien Carroll, Seamus Curry, and Ray Kearney matched Blackhall's scores to leave it 0-03 apiece at the change of ends.

The intensity was there from both sides and what was a very evenly contested game, the Bracks notched it up a gear to take a 0-07 to 0-05 lead with points from Carroll, Chris O Connor and Daly again. It took a bit of smart thinking from Blackhall to take their awarded free quickly and work the ball through the Ballinabrackey defense, which worked tirelessly throughout, and into the back of the Bracks net. Trailing by one the home side could not get the equalizing score and the game finished in favor of Blackhall Gaels.

Plenty of positives for both sides with alot of work still to do.
