FL Div 2: Emphatic win for Ratoath

Ratoath got off to a flying start in their division 2 league match against Drumbaragh with a 16 point win on Satunrday night in Sean Eiffe Park. The home side began well with points from Gavin McGowan and Mark Daly putting them into a 4 point lead. The North Meath men eventually settled with points of their own but their progress was arrested with goals from Daly and Brian O'Connor.As a result the South Meath men went into a 2-6 to 0-4 lead at half time.

After the break it was effectively one way traffic as Fergal Power's charges dominated for the remainder of the game .With McGowan and Daly again to the fore Drumbaragh had no answer and the coup de grace was provided with substitute Niall Donnelly with the third goal to seal an emphatic win.

Best for Ratoath in which the defence played particularly well were Brian Daly, Gavin McGowan & Emmet Boyle while Dara Kelly and Mark Daly and substitute Niall Donnelly were the most impressive of the forwards
