The Seneschalstown minor squad

Dunboyne 2-11 Seneschalstown 1-11

Seneschalstown's Minor girls played their opening round game against Dunboyne at St. Peter's pitch on Sunday evening 30th August.

Both teams were under strength in personnel and so played 13 aside. Dunboyne got off to the better start with a few quick points as Seneschalstown struggled with the pace of the game. The Yellow Furze girls notched up  five  points in that first half and were unlucky to hit the woodwork on a couple of occasions. Dunboyne knocked in two goals on the run into half time which gave them a comfortable lead at the break, Dunboyne 2-09 Seneschalstown: 0-05.

With nothing to lose in the second half, Seneschalstown cast off the shackles and really went for this game with everything they had.  It paid dividends, and point by point they got themselves back into contention but as time ran out they found themselves just one goal adrift.

The Seneschalstown girls did themselves proud over the course of the game and can take great heart from their second half performance.  This game will stand to them as they will have learned so much from it.
