JFCB: Nobber's hard work undone by late Vincents goal

August 23, 2015

Nobber's Thomas McCormack

St Vincents.    1.13.  0.10
Nobber.           0.11.  0.02

Nobber turned in a spirited performance before going under to St Vincents in this quarter final match.

The Vincents completely dominated the opening half going in 10/2 up at the break Nobbers reply coming from Brian Kelly and Thomas McCormack.

The Vincents looked home and hosed, but Nobbers great belief in their own ability came to the fore and they found themselves on level terms by the 48th minute this turn around came about with the extreme pressure they exerted on the Vincents rearguard and the sublime free taking accuracy of Brian Kelly.

Even though they came up short in the end nobody can question the great passion which they showed in the opening 20 minutes of the second half.

Ultimetly the Vincents got back on top in the final 10 minutes scoring in the 50th; 52nd and 54th minutes.

Nobber replied in the 60th minute to reduce the deficit to 2 and despite incessant pressure on the Vincents defence it was them who broke to score a 63rd minute goal to put the issue beyond doubt.
