Graham Geraghty says he would "love a crack" at managing Meath in the future.

The 1999 All-Ireland winning captain served as a selector under Seamus 'Banty' McEnaney a few years ago and is currently coaching Duleek-Bellewstown. He also had a stint with Westmeath club side Castledaly and is part of a group, which also includes his former Meath team-mates Donal Curtis and Cormac Sullivan, currently taking part in the Award 2 Coaching course run by the Leinster Council.

"I had done a Foundation Level course a few years ago and then Leinster GAA rolled out a Level 1 course which I did last year and I'm doing this now to further my expertise," the Royal County legend explained to the Leinster GAA website.

"Having the qualification is something different and is nice to have, and backs up what you are doing. There is more to coaching than just training a team, especially a county team, and there's a lot involved in the background and being able to treat every player differently and it is good to have that string to your bow.

"I suppose, like any coach, you'd probably love a crack at looking after your own county. Whether than happens in Meath, or somewhere else in the future, I don't know.

"I enjoyed working as a selector with Meath under 'Banty' McEnaney, but you'd always have your own thoughts and ideas, and each manager is different."
