Team news: Royals taking no chances

Meath's Ciaran McConnell

Meath manager Mick O'Dowd is taking no chances ahead of tonight's O'Byrne Cup clash against DCU.

If the Royals avoid defeat they will advance to the last four of the competition so O'Dowd and his selectors have named a strong team.

Captain Donal Keogan is given his first start in the competition while other regulars such as Donncha Tobin, Graham Reilly and Damian Carroll are also restored to the starting 15.

Donaghmore/Ashbourne's Shane Melia - who was introduced as a substitute in the mid-week win over Longford - starts at left half-back.

Meath (O'Byrne Cup v DCU) - Patrick O'Rourke, Donncha Tobin, Conor McGill, Mickey Burke; Ciaran McConnell, Donal Keogan, Shane Melia; Harry Rooney, Adam Flanagan; Graham Reilly, Mark O'Sullivan, Andy Tormey; Damien Carroll, David Bray, Joey Wallace.
