It was hectic stuff in Carlanstown on Thursday evening as both sides went for it hammer and tongs, referee Paul Mooney played 25 minutes a side and in the 50 minutes played a total of 37 scores were registered, not a lot short of a score every minute.

Kilmainhamwood who were stronger down the middle led from start to finish and put 3-11 on the scoreboard in the opening half, St. Michaels fired in a respectable 2-6, their two goals coming from Ben Gaffney and Patrick Tobin who also contributed two first half points with the remaining points coming from Ciaran O'Reilly 0-2, and a point apiece from Cian McFadden and Conor Gaffney to leave their side trailing 2-6 to 3-11 at the break.

Kilmainhamwood rattled in a further three goals in the second period while Ciaran O'Reilly got St. Michaels only major of the second half and he also managed three points from play while Patrick Tobin 0-3 and Cian McFadden completed the St. Michaels scoring. Along with the scorers Justin McPhillips, Cian Curran, Brian Reilly and Andrew Allen were others who stood out for the losers.
