IHC: Tones back on track.

After losing out to Ratoath in round 2 Wolfe Tones got their Intermediate hurling championship campaign back on track with a comfortable win over a depleted Gaeil Colmcille side at Lomans Park Trim.

Conor Roche got the games opening score for the Kellsmen but from there on The Tones dominated. Roche got all of Gaeil Colmcilles first half tally. Ken McKenna's men held a 1-9 to 0-4 interval lead. Stephen Sheppard gave the Gaeil Colmcille rearguard a torrid afternoon. The full forward sent over 3 first half points. Midfielder Gerry Farrelly (2) and half forward Caolach Halligan (3) got in on the scoring act. Thomas Reilly scored the games only goal midway through the half.

Three early second half points from Eanna Harrington (2) and Alan Callaghan killed the game off as a contest. Dylan Roche and Evan Sheridan replied for Kells but they were to prove their only scores of the half. Tones tagged on points through Sheppard, Halligan, Harrington and Farrelly to run out comfortable winners.
