Cille's win third U16 tie

April 21, 2004
St. Colmcille's 4-15 Clan na nGael 1-03 Colmcilles made three wins out of three in a wind and rain swept Pilltown in Division 1 of the U16 FL. Assisted by the strong wind in the first half Cilles were well on top early on and had 1-3 on board after only 5mins, with the goal coming from man of the match Graham Reilly. However the home side were very wasteful for the next 10-15 mins and it allowed the visitors a chance to get some forward play. Aided by 2 good points from Karl Mullen the Cilles found their scoring range again and eventually went in at the break leading on a scoreline of 1-09 to 0-0. Colmcilles played their best football against the wind in the second half as the defence ,marshalled by full back John Levins, laid the foundations for many attacks and some fine ball carrying and close interchange play between midfield and half forwards saw the Cilles scoring 3-06 in the second half. A superbly struck goal by talented corner forward Graham Boyle early in the half seemed to knock the stuffing out of the visitors and by the time Clan na nGael scored a consolation goal late on the outcome was beyond doubt. Goals from Peter Lambe and Niall Black and points from Kevin Towell, Johnny Tuffy, Peter Lambe, Graham Boyle and Graham Reilly finished off a fine display from St. Colmcille's in the end. St. Colmcille's - Kevin Gough, Colm Reilly(capt.), John Levins, Lorcan Smith, Kevin Walsh, Robert Madden, Brian Murphy, Graham Reilly (1-06), Eoin Woods, Karl Mullen(0-2), Wayne McCloskey, Peter Lambe(1-01), Graham Boyle(1-04), Johnny Tuffy(0-1), Kevin Towell(0-1). Subs - Niall Black(1-0), Mark Eagleton, Dean Adamson, Michael Gallagher and Richard O'Donoughue.
