Duleek Bellewstown's second string claimed a comfortable victory against a courageous St Pauls last Saturday in Ashbourne in the second game of the evening.

Two early Peter Curran points, the first off the outside of his boot settled the team before St Pauls opened their account. Wayne Noone bagged the first of three goals in the 6 minute following a quick free. Chris Carney then popped a point from the left hand side before Noone got his second beating the St Pauls keeper to flick the ball to the net. St Pauls responded and got into the game with two points to leave Duleek Bellewstown 2 goals to the good at the end of the first quarter.

There was no further scoring for about 10 minutes despite the best efforts of both teams before James Burke received a flicked pass from Wayne Noone, avoided a couple of tackles and found the back of the net. And he followed this almost immediately with a point. Peter Curran and Noone had further points before St Pauls gave themselves a glimmer of hope with a goal on the stroke of half time.

Half Time: Duleek Bellewstown 3-6 St Pauls 1-3

Whatever hope St Pauls had was firmly extinguished in the first 10 minutes of the second half when Chris Carney and Peter Curran scored 1-4 between them with Curran scoring 3 points and Carney notching 1-1 the goal coming from a knockdown ball from Daniel Martin and Carney drove to the roof of the net. Curran then placed Darren Mills with a pinpoint pass to add the fifth goal before Stefan O'Neill pointed from the 45 metre Line.
The last quarter was a procession towards the St Pauls end with further goals from Shane Townley, Wayne Noone and Daniel Martin and points from Noone, Paul Martin, Ciaran Flynn with two, Mills again , Warren Cudden while St Paul's reward were two further points.
Wayne Noone with 3-2 and Peter Curran with 0-7 were the scoring stars of the show but solid performances were put in by Shane Townley, James Burke who bagged 1-1 in a 10 minute purple patch in the first half, Stefan ONeill who worked tirelessly from the half forward line and Mick Dowling who marshalled the defence from full back.
