MHL: Big win for Dunderry

Dunderry opened their M.H.L campaign with a convincing win over the combination of Gaeil Colmcille/Kilskyre.

The visitor's were in control after 8 mins leading 1-4 to 0-1 with Alex Walsh scoring 1-2 plus points from Conor Dempsey and Eoghan Daly. Walsh and Daly linked up well taking chances after Dempsey and Luke Martyn providing the ammunition they added a goal each in the 16th and 17th minutes. If the home side did get into a scoring position the 2 cornerbacks Aron Feeney and Mickey Dowdall held strong along with goalkeeper Jamie Leavy who made 2 very good saves and also making his debut at this level. Halftime score saw the visitors lead 0-2 to 3-13.

The second half saw the home side score 3 quick points but Dunderry just stepped up a gear and reeled off another goal from Walsh and points from Dempsey Kevin Clinch and Peter Casey. The home side scored a consolation goal but never troubled Dunderry when the final whistle went the visitors had won comfortably 1-5 to 4-22.
